ZUK Z1 Officially Receives LineageOS 14.1 Based on Android 7.1.1

Sure the ZUK Z1 wasn’t the best looking smartphone on the market, but ZUK were spot on with the hardware and made sure that they took advantage of a thriving developer community.

If you cast your minds back you will remember that the ZUK Z1 originally launched in China with ZUI but was then given a second ‘International’ launch (with the help of Elephone no less) with a slightly different model that came pre-installed with Cyanogenmod.

While the ZUK Z1 was the first and last ZUK phone to launch with an international ROM, it still receives a lot of modding love even today.

Gizchina News of the week

The Snapdragon 801 powered phone get’s its latest update with the release of LineageOS 14.1 which is based on Android 7.1.1 Nougart. As with Cyanogen before it, the update comes without GApps as standard, but all apps are available to download and very easy to install.

The ZUK Z1 came with a 5.5-inch FHD display, USB Tybe C, fingerprint scanner and large 4100mAh battery. You can read our ZUK Z1 review here.

“ZUK Z1 wasn’t the best looking smartphone on the market”? are you out of your senses?
It’s still one of the best looking smartphones & when we look at its price, it’s the best in the class.

Yeah bro, exactly. I-Phonish look is amazing.

Lineage OS is community driven project.
Here by word “official”, they mean community based official LOS update & not by Lenovo or Zuk.
LOS is already there on their offical site. We can install it by ourselves & then get weekly updates.

But for that I’d have to root my device I guess. And that will also wipe out all my phone data including media.
