Xiaomi Mi 6 will be the first to get the MIUI 9 update?

This info comes from a MIUI Forum Admin who – in a recent discussion with forum members- confirmed that the MIUI 9 development is almost done and well in schedule to be released before August 19.

Gizchina News of the week

The Admin was identified as “Mushroom bread” and mentioned that all MIUI engineers have been working intensively for more than a month and everything goes as planned. However he disclosed that the Xiaomi Mi 6 flagship will be the first to get a taste of the new MIUI, as the first batch of the ROM will only support this device. Support for other Xiaomi models will be available later on – according to what he said.

We have no info on when -precisely- we’re going to see this update poppin up on our phones, but it should be here by the end of this month or early next month, bringing along several bug fixes, and improvements such as screen recorder, split screen, and Picture-in-Picture mode.

As always it will be full of bugs. Like the previous versions they will release an update weekly fixing 1 bug and creating another and it goes on and on till the coming out of the next version. When MIUI 10 will come, that cycle will start all over again.
