In recent times, Xiaomi has been working on its latest MIUI 9. The company just released the global stable ROM to Mi MIX 2 and many other devices have also gotten this stable version. Now that the global rollout of MIUI 9 has commenced, Xiaomi is now recruitingĀ beta testers for Android 8.0 for its flagship device ā the Mi 6. This recruitment may take a few weeks and the closed beta program will start afterward. Users who will sign up for this program will use theĀ closed beta version for a specified time before it is opened to more units. Subsequently, aĀ developer version will be released as a public beta.

It is most probable that the public beta will be available by January 2018 if all goes according to plan and aĀ final stable update will arrive much later, most likely after the Mi 7 and other new devices have been released. The Oreo comes with a series of new features which includesĀ picture-in-picture mode, Bluetooth battery level indicator, Autofill, Notification dots, and instant apps. Xiaomi is using the same method it adopted when it was about to roll out Android Nougat.
