Good news for Xiaomi Mi 6 users. Xiaomi has released Android Oreo update for the Mi 6 flagship smartphone. This Global Beta ROM is the international ROM which comes pre-installed with Google services. Xiaomi Mi 6 users are now receiving the new Global firmware based on Android 8.0 Oreo. The most noticeable changes to the international version of MIUI Beta are related to the contacts section and the screen recording tool, but there are also other optimizations for floating notifications, camera, weather and other system services.

To have a feel of Android Oreo on Xiaomi Mi 6, you must first make sure that your device runs on MIUI 9 Global Beta ROM v7.12.14 based on Android Nougat. If you have this ROM installed, you will automatically receive an OTA notification, and your device will be updated.
Please do not attempt to flash a ROM if you are not an expert. Data and other important files will be lost in the process so make sure you back up all document before flashing your device. Also, the MIUI 9 Global Beta ROM is quite unstable and some issues such have already been reported thus if you need to feel Android Oreo on your Mi 6 then it is worth the risk.
