Budget-centric Vivo Y71 with thin bezels, Android Oreo launched quietly in India


The Vivo Y71 that has been launched in Malaysia is now launched in India. It is the first entry-level device from Vivo to feature an 18:9 aspect ratio in the Y-series. The news of the launch comes exclusively from 91mobiles who state that they have the info from retailers. The handset is priced Rs 10,990 as per declared info.

The Vivo Y71 offers a unimetal body design and a slim trim look with Android Oreo out of the box. Further, the handset misses a fingerprint reader and instead employs face unlock as a substitute.

As for other vital machinery, the Vivo Y71 is driven by a Snapdragon 450 processor which is a middling chip in all respects. It has 3GB of RAM and 16GB of storage which is expandable via microSD card.

That 14nm based processor lights up a 5.99-inch HD+ display assisted by a 3,360mAh battery. The Vivo Y71 has a single rear camera that has 13MP quality with LED flash, whereas the front has a basic 5MP selfie taker.

Vivo also offers 4G LTE support as well as dual SIM slots on the handset apart from the obligatory Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS connectivity options.

The Vivo Y71 will be sold in physical stores across India when a formal announcement is made by Vivo.
