Xiaomi was supposed to launch a number of products today including the Mi Band 3 alongside the Mi 8, Mi 8 SE, and MIUI 10. The company also launched its own stand-alone VR headset at the Shenzhen event. We’ve covered all the above products and here’s a description of the Mi Band 3.
Hours before launch, a leak on Weibo spilled the beans on the fitness band and it was spot on with its accuracy. Previously, Xiaomi CEO, Lei Jun was found wearing the fitness tracker at the Black Shark launch event and since then we’ve heard many things about it.
Cutting to the chase, the Mi Band 3 comes with the same convex display but has a 0.78-inch OLED panel. The touch-interactive display can show app updates, caller ID, to name just a few. There’s a heart rate counter, steps and sleep tracer on there as well.
The Mi Band 3 is water resistant up to 50 meters and there’s an NFC variant for mobile payments. Xiaomi has claimed the battery life to be 20 days long. However, as we know this is subject to personal use.
The Mi Band 3 comes in three colours – orange, black and blue. The basic variant costs 169 Yuan (approx $26 / Rs 1,800) while the NFC variant costs a bit more at 199 Yuan.
