Alleged Huawei Mate 20 Display Panel Leaked

The Huawei Mate 20 and its different variants have been making the rounds of the rumour mill since weeks now. The Mate 20 Lite recently leaked in renders and an alleged Mate 20 display panel has leaked as of today. The leak confirms a few speculations that were in circulation since the past few weeks.

Gizchina News of the week

The display panel follows the same design as the Mate 20 Lite, at least from the front. There’s a notch up top and a chin at the bottom. But that’s where the similarities end. The screen has curved sides and the notch not just houses the camera, but also a sophisticated facial recognition tech. If the cut-outs are to be believed, the Mate 20 will sport 3D structured light and also a TOF (Time Of Flight) camera. Apart from that, there is another detail that’s noteworthy; the in-display fingerprint scanner. From the image, it’s clear that there will be an in-display fingerprint scanner on the Mate 20.

If the above speculations are to be believed, one of the Huawei Mate 20 variants will sport both 3D Structured Light face recognition and an in-display fingerprint scanner. The Mate 20 Lite will likely not feature the in-display fingerprint scanner if renders from before are to be believed.

You can’t spell “Notch” without “NO”.

I don’t understand the people being against the notch. Would you prefer a notch-less phone with no front camera or a notch-less phone with less space on the top? The notch isn’t an extra plastic that covers the screen, it’s an extra screen covering what used to be plastic.
