Sound Quality of Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Explained in Details

Redmi note 7

Many know the Redmi Note 7 as the first model of Xiaomi’s newly independent brand, namely Redmi. Others think the company has released it to compete with other 48MP smartphones, such as the Huawei Nova 4 and Honor V20. There are other groups of users that think this handset has been designed for this or that reason. The truth is they all are right. But all those users usually forget to mention one of the real advantages of the Note 7 in comparison to other handsets from the same niche. It’s the much-improved audio experience. Today, on January 26, Redmi’s official Weibo channel introduced everything in details.

According to the official introduction, the Redmi Note 7 adopts a separate large sound cavity design, and the independent box brings stable sealing performance. The large sound cavity design has better sound quality while ensuring a loud volume.

Moreover, it uses the flagship PA components of the same supplier from Apple and Samsung to ensure reliable quality.

More importantly, the Redmi Note 7 uses a DSM dynamic gain control, a custom AAC micro-speaker, a multi-technology buck, and the external volume is increased by 2.5 times.

Finally, the Redmi Note 7 supports a handheld voice volume mode. If the volume is maximum during the call, press the volume button up to enter the high volume mode, and it will provide even a 40% larger volume. There is also dual MIC AI noise reduction and main MIC anti-blocking function to ensure the best call volume.

Our protagonist comes with different memory combinations. The 3GB+32GB costs 999 yuan ($148), the 4GB+64GB is for 1199 yuan ($178), and the 6GB+64GB is available at 1399 yuan ($207).

Is this a big deal? While it may appeal to call quality and/or volume (which is yet to be tested, by the way), there is no DAC like the ZTE Axon 7 or other such LG smartphones.
