Realme 5 price for India confirmed by the company’s CEO

The Realme 5 and 5 Pro will be officially revealed in India on August 20, with a quad-core camera arrangement and compelling specs. After getting a glimpse of the design and features present in the two handsets, now we’re getting the price of the Realme 5 through no other than the company’s own CEO.

Madhav Sheth, the CEO of Realme India, didn’t reveal the exact price of the upcoming handset but said today that Realme is bringing next week “the world’s 1st quad-camera smartphone under 10k”. We can take this as a confirmation that the handset will come in the same price tag of its predecessors at INR9,999 (~$140).

The post also confirms that the Realme 5 will feature a Qualcomm chipset that will be a “first” in India. Worth noting that a Realme device with RMX1911 code Snapdragon 665 paired with 4 GB RAM popped out in GeekBench. This chipset is present only in the Xiaomi Mi A3 at the moment. However, the Android One device will arrive in India some days after the Realme launch. As a result, the Realme’s handset will be, in fact, the first handset to feature the Snapdragon 665 in India.

Worth noting that this processor is not the most powerful in the mid-range market. However, it is more cost-effective than Snapdragon 7xx chipsets. For that reason, the Realme 5 will be delivering decent performance at a low cost. Furthermore, this chipset will deliver long-endurance along with the 5,000mAh battery. This huge battery will be present in both variants.
