Xiaomi is all set to launch its next iteration of a cheaper budget smartphone dubbed Redmi 8A in the Indian market. The smartphone will see its official unveiling on September 25 which is right around the corner. As the name suggests, the device is going to be a follow-up to the previous Redmi 7A. If you’re keeping with the recent news, Redmi 8A has been leaked numerous time, each time revealing a certain aspect. Well, this time the development is coming straight from the company itself.

Xiaomi’s Global Vice President and Indian Managing Director, Manu Jain, has posted a picture of the device on his official Twitter account earlier today. The post reveals the design of the smartphone from the back featuring a single rear camera and Blue color. Apart from the design, the tweet also confirms two key features of the device. According to Manu Jain, Xiaomi Redmi 8A will come with a USB Type-C port along with fast charging support. He also claims that Redmi 8A might be the only device to come with these two features in the price segment.

As mentioned earlier, the smartphone has been leaked numerous time previously. The design of Redmi 8A resembles the previous TENAA listing of Redmi smartphone with model number M1908C3KE.  Additionally, it is worth mentioning that there is no fingerprint sensor on the back. This suggests that the smartphone will only Apart from these two aspects, the tweet doesn’t reveal anything else. Just like this one, we might see some more official teasers in the coming days.

Expected Specifications, Features

Considering the previous leaks and rumors, Xiaomi Redmi 8A will feature a 6.21-inch display featuring a waterdrop notch. The device also has the Redmi branding on the thick chin. Under the hood, the device will run on the 2.0Ghz octa-core processor paired with up to 4GB of RAM and up to 64GB of memory. For imaging, there is a single 12MP rear camera sensor. There is an 8MP front snapper for all your selfie needs. All of these is going to be fueled by a massive 5,000mAh battery. As of now, there is no information on the pricing of the device. We might have to wait for the official launch for that.
