Earlier this year, Realme introduced its budget smartphone dubbed Realme C2 expanding its portfolio. The smartphone offers long-lasting battery life at a budget price tag. The smartphone has now started receiving the latest Android security patch update along with few more additions such as Digital Wellbeing. The Chinese company announced the rollout of the new update on its official forum. For those who’re unaware, Realme 3 Pro started receiving the same security patch update a couple of days ago.
Realme C2 September Security Update Brings Digital Wellbeing
Realme C2 is now receiving a software update with version number RMX1941EX_11.A.17 over-the-air. As mentioned earlier, the update brings the Digital Wellbeing feature which was earlier missing. With the help of Digital Wellbeing, users can track their daily smartphone usage stats to maintain perfect work to life balance. Furthermore, the update also brings the newly redesigned notification center along with the ability to swipe right or left on the message notifications. As per the changelog, the smartphone maker has also optimized the lock screen widget with this update.
Apart from security improvements, this new update has also introduced the manual lock feature which you can trigger by simply long-pressing the home button. Realme has also added a slew of internet data related features to the device. These features include the ability to create a data limit for hotspot connections, dedicated page to show the consumed data so far and a data reminder feature. Those who rely on mobile data most of the time will find these new additions quite useful. You can easily customize the data reminder as per your preferences.
If you haven’t received the update, you can try to manually download it using the Software & Update feature on the Settings app. We will recommend using a strong WiFi connection and having enough battery life on your device. Since the company is currently rolling the update in batches, there is a high chance that manual download might not work for you. The company is planning to roll out the update to masses in the coming days.
