Samsung sold an LCD plant in China for $1 billion to TCL


Samsung Display, a division of the South Korean Samsung Electronics that manufactures screens for various devices, has sold its LCD display line located in Suzhou, China to TCL Technology.

The move is in line with the company’s plan to end the production of LCD panels by the end of this year. The South Korean company is shifting its focus to next-generation LED and QD panels.

Samsung sold an LCD plant in China for $1 billion to TCL

Samsung Display announced that the company has signed an agreement to sell its entire stake in its Suzhou production line to TCL Huaxing, a subsidiary of TCL Technology, in a deal worth approximately $1.08 billion.

Following this deal, Samsung Display also acquired a 12.33% stake in TCL Huaxing for $739 million.

This plant is currently used to manufacture 32″, 55″ and 65″ TV panels.

It is worth to mention that recently, the company has revealed the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra smartphones, and here is a reminder of their specifications.
