Vivo V20 and V20 Pro announced in Thailand


After many leaks and reports, Vivo has made its V20 series official through the release of the Vivo V20 and V20 Pro in Thailand. The new devices come with a camera-centric approach offering powerful setups on the front and rear. The Vivo V20 Pro gives a step further by bringing 5G connectivity thanks to the Snapdragon 765G. If you’re familiar with the Vivo X50 series you’ll probably notice some similarities between these smartphones and the Chinese devices. The Vivo V20 is less impressive with its Snapdragon 720G.

Vivo V20 specifications

Under the hood, the Vivo V20 packs the Snapdragon 720G chipset paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of Storage. The handset brings a Triple-camera setup comprising a 64MP main, 8MP Ultra-Wide angle lens, and 2MP macro shooter.

The handset has a 6.44-inch display with FHD+ resolution and a single punch-hole housing a 44MP selfie snapper. It draws power from a 4,000mAh battery with 33W Flash-Charge support. The device is 7.38mm thick and weighs just 171 grams. More details will be revealed later on.

Vivo V20 Pro specifications

Under the hood, the Vivo V20 Pro packs a Snapdragon 765G chipset paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of Internal Storage. The specifications are built around a 6.44-inch display with FHD+ resolution. This is an AMOLED panel and, therefore, we have an in-display fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication. The panel also brings HDR10 support and a 20:9 aspect ratio. Up to the top we have a pill-shaped punch hole serving as a house for 44MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture and an 8MP f/2.28 ultra-wide-angle lens shooter.

Moving around to the back, the device packs a 64MP ISOCELL GW1 sensor from Samsung. It is paired with an 8MP secondary sensor with an f/2.2 ultra-ide angle lens and a 2MP monochrome sensor with f/2.4 aperture. This camera sensor brings a set of interesting features like Super Night Mode, Tripod Night Mode, Motion Autofocus and more.

The device has seamless 5G connectivity, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS / A-GPS. It also packs a 4,000mAh battery with 33W FlashCharge fast-charging technology and charges through a USB Type-C port. The phone is 7.39 thick and weighs in at 170g.

Pricing and Availability

The Vivo V20 Pro is priced at THB 14,999 (~$480) and is available for pre-orders in Thailand. Open sales are set to start only on September 30 and the device is available in three distinct colorways – Moonlight Sonata, Midnight Jazz, and Sunset Melody shades. Unfortunately, the company didn’t disclose the V20’s price at this moment, but we know it will come in Midnight Jazz and Sunset Melody colors.

Worth noting that the company still has the Vivo V20 SE to unveil. It will likely go official on September 24.
