Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro display may exceed 2K resolution – probably 2K+

With the development of smartphones, screens have increasingly become the focus of competition among major manufacturers. However, due to the impact of power consumption and comprehensive display effects, the screen resolution of most mainstream flagships still stays at 1080P. Although Samsung, Sony, and other manufacturers have begun to test the 2K resolution, the actual application is not widespread. Of course, this situation may change in 2021. There are already reports that Xiaomi will mass-produce 2K display phones next year. However, the latest report shows that the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro will use a 2K+ screen.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro

Gizchina News of the week

Yesterday, there were reports that the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro will arrive with a 2K 120Hz punch-hole screen. However, the latest leak shows that this display may actually be more than 2K, most likely 2K+. The latest report from @DigitalChatStation confirms the resolution of the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro. According to him, this resolution of this display is 3200 x 1440p. 2K resolution is widely considered as “1440p” or Quad HD” or “QHD” and it’s an upgrade to 1080p. However, many native 2K resolution has 2560 pixels horizontally and 1440 pixels vertically. It is referred to as QHD because it has 4 times the pixels as 720p.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro display resolution exceeds 2K

A 1440p screen with a wider ratio (like we have for the Xiaomi Mi Pro) will have more horizontal pixels. This will classify the display as a 2K+ screen, maybe 3K or 3.5K resolution. However, the 3200 horizontal pixel for the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro means it has more than 2K resolution.

The aspect ratio of the Mi 11 simply will 20:9. The current 2K+ resolution AMOLED screen is only used by high-end flagships. In fact, only a handful of flagships can boast of having this display.

In other respects, the new Mi 11 series will have two versions – Xiaomi Mi 11 and Mi 11 Pro. Both smartphones will come with a punch-hole screen. The former will adopt a straight screen design, while the latter will use a curved display. The biggest highlight of the new Xiaomi Mi 11 series flagship is that it will use the Snapdragon 875 processor for the first time. This will be the first time Xiaomi will use a 5nm chip, using “1+3+4” eight cores.

According to reports, the Xiaomi Mi 11 series will arrive ahead of schedule. As of now, all we know are speculations and there is nothing official.
