Vivo Y31 (4G) surfaces on multiple certifications

Back in October 2015, Vivo unveiled its super budget smartphone Vivo Y31 featuring 3G connectivity. Five years have passed, and we’re in the middle of a 5G expansion to more smartphone segments. Vivo is an important player in the expansion of 5G connectivity but still finds some space for 4G only smartphones. Apparently, the company is preparing an upgrade for the Vivo Y31 with 2020 specs and 4G LTE connectivity. The new Vivo Y31 (4) has been spotted on multiple certifications now. The list includes NBTC, IMDA, BIS, EEC, and Bluetooth SIG. It hints at an imminent launch.

Thailand’s NBTC certification confirms that Vivo Y31 (4G) has the model number V2036, and if the moniker didn’t spoil it for you, comes with 4G connectivity. However, the BIS certification suggests that V2031 is another variant of the smartphone. The smartphone will hit India and other Asian countries like Indonesia. Obviously, the device is nothing close to the 2015 handset. As of now, the specifications and design are unknown, but we expect a device that is on par with mid-range releases.

Gizchina News of the week

Under the hood, we’re expecting something between the Snapdragon 460 and Snapdragon 662, but a MediaTek chip isn’t discarded too. For now, we can only expect more details from Vivo. The company is gearing up to launch its X60 flagship series on December 29. At the same time, the company is moving to launch the iQOO 7 series under its gaming sub-brand in early 2021 with 120W fast-charging. These devices are way more appealing than a simple 4G mid-range smartphone. For that reason, we’re expecting a quiet launch for the LTE mid-range smartphone in the Asian markets.

We also don’t know exactly when the company will unveil the new smartphone. Considering the number of certifications popping out, this can happen any time in the coming days.

Vivo X60 passes by Geekbench and will be the world’s first smartphone to launch with Exynos 1080 SoC

Fans of the Vivo X-series will be excited to know that more details were revealed today about the forthcoming flagship series. Today, the vanilla Vivo X60 passed by GeekBench database sporting an Exynos 1080 SoC (5nm) with 12GB of RAM. Moreover, it runs Android 11 straight out of the box with the newly launched OriginOS skin running atop.

The new devices probably will be the last smartphones coming in 2020 and will close a very successful year for Vivo.
