Back in 2015, Vivo unveiled a budget device in India dubbed Vivo Y31. The device was a 3G-only smartphone, and this seems weird nowadays in a world where 5G is slowly becoming a reality among budget smartphones. Apparently, Vivo will update this smartphone with a new smartphone featuring 4G connectivity, new specs, and a new design. In fact, this more re-use of a marketing name than a way to pay tribute to the original Vivo Y31. Now, a new report suggests that the Vivo Y31 (4G) will not be the only device reaching India. The handset with model number V2036 passed by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification alongside the Vivo Y51s with model number V2031. Both devices can be classified under the mid-range segment, so we expect quiet launches for both of them. After all, all the buzz is set to come from the Vivo X60 series and the iQOO 7.

Unfortunately, not much is known about the Vivo Y31 (4G) specifications. However, we know that it is close to a release as it has passed through IMDA, NBTC, and EEC certifications. For now, that name is basically what we have about it. But we expect more details to appear in the coming weeks. One thing we know, this device will launch in multiple countries including India and Russia.
Vivo Y51s specifications
The Vivo Y51s is an entirely new smartphone. The company unveiled it in the Chinese market back in July this year. The device came with a price tag of CNY 1,798 and has compelling specifications. Under the hood, it carries an Exynos 880 chipset with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of Internal Storage. The specifications come around a 6.53-inch Full HD+ LCD with a punch-hole cutout for the 8MP selfie snapper.
Moving on to the camera department, the device features a triple camera setup comprising a main 48MP primary shooter, a 2MP depth, and a 2MP macro shooter. The device draws power from a 4,500mAh battery with 18W fast-charging support. That’s not every day that we see this amount of charging rate going through an old micro USB port. Apparently, Vivo did some magic to make the port withstand these charging capabilities. But still, that’s very unfortunate to not see a Type-C port here. The phone runs Android 10 OS with Funtouch OS 10.5 running on the top.
