Acer enters the TWS battle in India with a trio of earphones

Acer is a renowned name among computer enthusiasts thanks to its massive amount of Laptops and PC related products. However, the company is keen to expand its business to various distinct segments. The company’s range of TWS earphones has just gained force with the launch of a trio of truly wireless headsets in India, two of which feature built-in charging cables.

Acer is selling the premium model under the Gateway brand. The other two models carry the Acer branding. Indian customers can find the new hearables at Amazon and Flipkart. Apart from the obvious wire-free operation that all products bring, the main similarity between the trio is that their charging cases allow for up to 28 hours of total listening time. Apart from the case, each bud can last up to 4 hours in one go. This endurance is on par with the current market’s offerings. The charging cases can be recharged in an hour and a half.

As aforementioned, the premium model is sold as Gateway TWS and comes at a price tag of INR 3,500 ($47.82). The high-end offering has 9 mm drivers and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. These are charged through their USB-C port. The Acer-branded TWS models will retail at INR 2,500 ($34.16) and have a very close design. The main difference is how each one charges. The GAHR011 model comes with a USB-C and a USB-A cable built-in, so it can be plugged into a Type-C or Type-A port. The bottom part stands as a dock and it can be easily removed. So if you’re taking your case in your pocket, removing the dock is a good option since it can greatly reduce the size of the whole thing. Another plus in this model is that you can easily connect it to a compatible power bank to charge.

The GAHR010 has a USB-A cable on board, plus a USB-C port. So, you can use the USB-C cable you charge your phone to charge it. Both Acer-branded TWS earphones have 8mm driers and the newer Bluetooth 5.1 standard. Unfortunately, none of them have aptX or LDAC support. But we can understand since both come from affordable audiences.

The three earbuds have a total weight of 50 grams with their cases. However, the cheaper 010 and 011 models are bulkier than the Gateway earbuds. Interestingly, all models have sweat resistance thanks to the IPX4 rating.
