Huawei Kirin 820E 5G SoC & Nova 7 SE LOHAS Edition are official


Although Huawei can no longer produce chips using American technology, this basically affects its flagship phones in the short term. For mid-range and entry-level devices, the company has a huge stock of chips. Today, the Chinese manufacturer unveiled its latest smartphone and well as a new chip. The Huawei Nova 7 SE 5G LOHAS Edition hit the road in China. The interesting part of this launch is that it comes with a new Kirin 820E SoC.

Before we take a look at the Huawei Nova 7 SE 5G LOHAS Edition, let us succinctly discuss the Kirin 820E. This chip uses the 7nm manufacturing process and it also comes with a Mali-G57 6-core GPU. In terms of CPU, the Kirin 820E 5G chip has three Cortex-A76 cores at 2.22GHz and three Cortex-A55 cores at 1.84GHz. At the same time, the Kirin 820E chip is equipped with Kirin ISP5.0 image upgrades, which enable low-light photos and clearer videos.

Looking at the brief details of this processor, it is for mid-range smartphones. It is a good thing that it supports 5G connectivity. Many users in China will probably appreciate this device.

The Huawei Nova 7 SE 5G LOHAS Edition comes with a 6.5-inch IPS LCD punch-hole display. This display supports a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels (Full HD+ resolution) and an aspect ratio of 20:9. On the software end, it comes with Android 10 (EMUI 10.1) out-of-the-box but of course, there will be no GMS.

In addition to the new Huawei Kirin 820E SoC, this device also comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The storage is expandable up to 256GB via an NM card. Furthermore, this smartphone comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

In the camera department, the Huawei Nova 7 SE 5G LOHAS Edition comes with a quad-rear camera setup. The main shooter is a 64MP camera with f/1.8 aperture. Supporting this sensor is an 8MP ultrawide lens, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro lens. On the front, this smartphone comes with a 16MP camera for selfies.

Under the hood, there is a 4,000 mAh battery that supports 40W fast charging. In terms of connectivity, this phone supports dual SIM, 5G, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.1, USB-C, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Price & Availability

This smartphone comes with a 2299 yuan ($355) price tag. It will commence sales from January 23rd and it is available in four colours. The colours include silver, green, black, and purple.
