Huawei EMUI 11 vs Harmony OS: See the direct comparison!

HarmonyOS 2.0

Last September, Harmony OS 2.0 was officially presented, the new version of Huawei’s operating system, which will soon reach the brand’s smartphones. The moment of its launch is approaching, and now, we have been able to see the first video showing its interface side by side with the current Huawei EMUI 11 user interface.

It was already mentioned months ago that it would be in 2021 when the first Huawei phones were going to use Harmony OS as their operating system. Now it is known when we can expect the launch of this system in the brand’s phones.

Wang Chenglu, president of the software department and director of Huawei’s AI business has confirmed when we can expect the launch of Harmony OS on the firm’s mobiles. We will not have to wait too long; because it will be at the beginning of June when it is officially launched.

The dates have finally been given, although at the moment it is not known which phones will be in the brand’s catalog that will have access to this update. Surely its most recent foldable, the Mate X2, is the first. Also, EMUI 11 smartphones are expected to have access to this update as well.

Throughout the summer Huawei would release the update to Harmony OS for more phones; as well as Honor models prior to the sale of the firm. The brand’s plan is to pass all its phones to this new operating system before the end of the year. The update will be released in various phases for this reason.

In addition, a video has already been leaked where this operating system is compared to EMUI 11; which is currently present in many Huawei models. Harmony OS is expected to provide a smoother user experience on Chinese brand phones. If all goes well, in just over a month we will be able to see if this experience is really better.

Huawei has recently started a public beta test of the new version of its HarmonyOS 2.0 operating system. This is reported by the Sparrow News portal; which links to posts from some of the popular Chinese bloggers on the Weibo platform. The latter indicate that various devices of the manufacturer have already begun to receive a new version of the firmware.

HarmonyOS 2.0 operating system updates range in size from 2.87GB to 6.20GB and vary by model. It is reported that the scale of the beta test will increase in the summer; and the company plans to expand the sample of users who will be able to download the update.
