The company also confirmed that they are more durable than ever. However, we can’t say the same for the screen, which is more fragile. So if you own or you are going to acquire any of these, you should keep them safe.
If they are broken, it is still possible to fix. But as you guess, it will cost a fortune. That’s especially if your warranty or extended warranty doesn’t cover the accidental damage.
Samsung Made Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3 Better, But…
Anyway, the Samsung Galaxy Fold 3 and Flip 3 come with various design improvements over their predecessors. They use a new “Armor” aluminum frame, which increases hinge protection. As a result, the structure is 10% more durable than before.
Moreover, the external display of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and rear glass panel are covered with the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. Samsung Warranty
Well, we know that Samsung offers a one-year warranty for both models. If you accidentally break the screen during that period (of course, if the accident is covered under the warranty terms), the replacement will be done for free.
All those who buy/pre-order the phones, they will get a free year of Samsung Care Plus. However, the extended warranty costs $12.99 monthly. In other words, repairing a broken foldable screen under Samsung Care Plus means having to pay a $249 deductible. As The Verge proves, the “deductible covers up to three screen repairs per year.”
Let’s see what will happen if the initial warranty doesn’t cover your unfortunate accident, and you don’t have Care Plus. If so, to repair a broken screen of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 will cost $479. As for the Flip 3, it will cost $369. While this sounds terrible, it’s less than what Samsung was charging last year ($549 for the Fold 2 and $499 for the Flip 5G).
When it comes to the external display, it costs $149 for the Fold 3 and $99 for the Flip 3.
