Samsung Galaxy A03 Core launches with Unisoc chipset

Samsung is constantly adding smartphones to its portfolio of Galaxy A and Galaxy M smartphones. Today, the brand is introducing a new handset to the segment of Galaxy A0x smartphones. These devices are usually super-budget handsets, and the new device is not an exception. The new handset arrives as Samsung Galaxy A03 Core. However, it’s different from the Galaxy A3 Core, sold also as Galaxy A01 Core in other markets.

Samsung Galaxy A03 Core specifications

The Samsung Galaxy A03 Core is built around a 6.5-inch LCD with an HD+ resolution of 1,600 x 720 pixels. The device sticks with the low-end-esque waterdrop notch design. Inside the cutout, there is a very modest selfie snapper with just a 5 MP resolution. The display has slightly thick bezels on the sides and a thick chin at the bottom. That’s the usual design of Galaxy A0x smartphones. The big differentiation of this handset lies in the performance.

Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy A03 Core sports an Octa-Core processor. It comes with four ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at up to 1.6 GHz and four ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at up to 1.2 GHz. The clock speeds match the Unisoc SC9863A SoC. So, Samsung is now just another brand partnering with the ascending Chinese chipset maker. Unisoc is already marking a presence among Nokia, Motorola, and Realme smartphones. It may become one of the more relevant chipmakers for mid-range and low-end smartphones in 2022. In addition to the processor, the phone comes with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of Internal Storage.

Moving around to the back, th device has an 8 MP sensor. There’s a 5,000 mAh battery inside. Unfortunately, there is no mention of any kind of fast-charging support. However, given the rest of these specifications, we’re not expecting it to have fast-charging support. The upcoming Galaxy 22 premium flagships, for example, will come with just 25 W fast-charging. This is miles behind the competition. That said, we expect the Galaxy A03 Core to be limited at 10 W charging.
