Oppo confirms Reno 8 series India launch for July 18

Oppo Reno 8

The Oppo Reno 8 series was unveiled in China back in May. After nearly two months, it seems that the company will be ready to bring them to the Indian market. The sub-continent is a key market for the Oppo Reno series, but Oppo had to wait a little longer due to the recent surge of COVID-19 cases there. For that reason, we expect the company to hold a virtual event, although, this is yet to be confirmed. Anyway, the Oppo Reno 8 series is confirmed to make its debut on July 18 at 6 PM local time.

Oppo Reno 8 series specifications

The entire family has the vanilla, Pro, and Pro+ variants. The European market got an extra Lite version. However, India is getting just the Oppo Reno 8 and Reno 8 Pro. However, there is a little surprise here. As per the leaks, the Oppo Reno 8 Pro may actually be the Chinese Reno 8 Pro+. So users will get the best hardware combination, but that also means that they won’t get the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC. Instead, the Indian Pro variant will bring the MediaTek Dimensity 8100-MAX SoC with up to 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The device has a 6.7-inch Full HD+ 120 Hz AMOLED screen, 50 MP camera array, and a 4,500 mAh battery with 80 W charging. The device will also bring the MariSilicon X NPU.
