Xiaomi 200MP camera smartphone is coming soon!

Xiaomi 200MP camera smartphone

The Motorola Edge 30 Ultra or “Motorola Frontier” has been cycling through the rumor mill for months now. The device is coming as Motorola’s super-flagship with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and also a 200 MP camera. The company will no longer get the title of “world’s first Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 smartphone” since Xiaomi achieved it with the Xiaomi 12S series. But it will still claim the title of the world’s first 200 MP camera smartphone, but the Xiaomi 200MP camera smartphone is coming soon as well. The rumors have been talking since the last year, and apparently, the device is really coming.

Motorola and Xiaomi have been fighting to debut technologies since the launch of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Motorola was the first with this chip, and Xiaomi the second. Now, Xiaomi was the first with the Xiaomi 12S series, but Motorola won’t be the second and not even the third as multiple devices have been launched already. Anyway, the company is focusing on the 200 MP camera as the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is no longer a novelty. According to Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi is still working on a flagship smartphone with a 200 MP camera. If you think the company is done with the Xiaomi 12S series, think again. So, what may be the Xiaomi 200MP camera smartphone?

Xiaomi 200MP camera smartphone may end up as part of the Redmi K50 series

According to speculation, the 200 MP camera smartphone may be the upcoming Redmi K50S Pro, or even the Xiaomi 12T Pro. Worth noting that both devices may end up being the same. The sensor will be either Samsung’s ISOCELL HP1 or the ISOCELL HP3. Both come with a 200 MP resolution. However, the big difference is in the optical format and Pixel size. The HP1 has 1/1.22″ and 0.64µm whereas the HP3 has 1/1.4 and 0.56µm, respectively.

Motorola is already using the larger HP1 with support for 4-in-1 pixel binning that results in a 50 MP shot. Yeah, we’ve reached the time when pixel binning produces 50 MP pictures. Xiaomi may end up using the HP1 for its 200MP camera smartphone. There are also other things to evaluate. After all, the company has just started a partnership with Leica. In the end, Leica may also work alongside the company to boost the capabilities of this snapper and tweak the software.

For now, we can only wait for Xiaomi 200MP camera smartphone. However, the company tends to launch new devices in September, so perhaps we won’t need to wait so long.
