Redmi could be on the verge of launching a new budget device for the Indian market. The Xiaomi sub-brand is reportedly gearing up to launch the Redmi 11 Prime 5G in India. The word on the street is that the Redmi 11 Prime 5G will be a rebranded Redmi Note 11E 5G. To recap, the Redmi Note 11E 5G and Note 11E Pro went official in China back in March. The device was brought to the Indian market with the Poco M4 5G moniker. Moreover, the Indian variant of the handset came with slightly different specs than the Chinese model. Notably, the company launched the same phone in Indonesia with the Redmi 10 5G moniker.

As per a report by XiaomiUI, the Redmi 11 Prime 5G carries the codename “Light.” Further, its model number is 22041219I. The Redmi 11 Prime 5G India launch could take place soon. However, the device will be a rebadged version of the Redmi 10 5G from Indonesia. Nevertheless, the Redmi 11 Prime 5G smartphone’s India launch is on the cards. Redmi is keeping the exact launch date of the handset under wraps. The phone’s launch could coincide with the arrival of another budget smartphone dubbed the Redmi A1.

The device was recently spotted on the Indian BIS certification website. The report suggests that the 11 Prime 5G will boast the same specs as the Indonesian version of the Redmi 10 5G. The only notable difference between the two phones is the operating system. Now, the Redmi 10 5G runs Android 12 OS, but the Note 11E 5G boots Android 11 OS. However, the rest of the specifications are the same. Also, the Indian variant will come with the 11 Prime 5G moniker. This 5G-ready device will sport a 6.58-inch IPS LCD panel.

Further, the screen offers a Full HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 90Hz. Under the hood, it packs a MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC. For optics, the device houses a dual rear camera setup featuring a 50MP primary sensor. Also, it features a 2MP secondary sensor. The side edge accommodates a fingerprint scanner.
