Vivo X Fold+ comes on September 26

Vivo X Fold+

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC came, and a lot of smartphone makers promptly unveiled flagships with it. Most of them took the opportunity to launch entirely new smartphones. Vivo, on the other hand, plans to launch a new variant of its foldable phone. It will come with the Vivo X Fold+ moniker.

The Vivo X Fold+ clearly comes to compete with the recently-released Galaxy Z Fold4 and the Mi MIX Fold2. Both foldable has the latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Vivo clearly does not want to stay behind with its SD8 Gen1-powered Vivo X Fold. So it’s launching a new Plus variant with the latest hardware.

The company, apparently, hints at the device with more durability. After all, it says that the “+” means “strong will evolve in a stronger way”. It could be just a marketing term, time will tell. Anyway, the company confirmed the new foldable come on September 26. The launch event will be held in China and begin at 7 PM local time.

Vivo X Fold+ leaked specifications

In addition to the launch date post, the company hinted at some of the phone’s details. For instance, it confirms the new Red colorway. It may join the existing Black and Blue colors. Unfortunately, Vivo didn’t confirm the specs of the upcoming foldable. However, we have the rumor mill with its big hat that covers us on rainy days.

According to leaks, the Vivo X Fold+ packs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. It will have up to 12 GB of RAM, and up to 512 GB of Storage.  The device gets a 4,730 mAh battery which is excellent considering the design challenges. Moreover, the phone has 80W charging and 50W wireless charging. The device’s panel will also come with a 120 Hz refresh rate.

Unfortunately, the Vivo X Fold+ may stay exclusive to the Chinese market just like its predecessor. For global customers, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 and Z Flip3 are still the only options in the foldable segment.
