Oppo Pad 2 with Dimensity 9000 is coming soon

Oppo Pad 2

With the rise of remote work and home-schooling, we saw the rebirth of the Android tablet segments. While some brands like Xiaomi decided to return, we saw new players emerging such as Realme, Vivo, and Oppo. The latter launched the Oppo Pad earlier this year with premium specs and a mid-range Oppo Pad Air. Several months passed since the launch of the Oppo Pad, and the company is already working on a successor for it, presumably, the Oppo Pad 2.

Oppo Pad 2 is coming soon

A new report comes and cites the popular Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station. According to him, Oppo is already working on a new model to succeed the Oppo Pad. This possible Oppo Pad 2 will boast the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC and will have a display with 2,800 x 2,000 pixels of resolution. We assume the Chinese gang will call this a 2.8K display like they did with the 1,500px resolution that launched with many phones this year.

Interestingly, this is the second tablet we hear is coming with the Dimensity 9000. A few days ago, the Lenovo Tab Extreme was spotted on Google Play Console with this very same chipset. The Dimensity 9000 came earlier this year to compete with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. However, it was not the number-one choice for many brands. It only appeared in a couple of specific variants, and in some cases, with very limited availability. Apparently, the time has come for this chipset and surprisingly it will be the replacement for the Snapdragon 870 in the tablet segment. The Oppo Pad boasts the Snapdragon 870, and the Oppo Pad 2 will get the Dimensity 9000.

To recall, the Oppo Pad also had an 11-inch IPS LCD screen with 2,560 x 1,600 pixels and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The tablet also has Quad Speakers, an 8,360 mAh battery with 33W charging, and up to 8 GB of RAM with 256 GB of Internal Storage. The new Oppo Pad 2 may bring similar specs such as the display, quad-speakers, and battery. But we may see some improvements here and there. The tipster suggests it is coming soon. So more leaks will likely emerge.

Worth mentioning that Oppo is quite busy at the end of the year. The company will unveil the Oppo Reno9 series in the next week, and rumors point to the launch of new foldables in December. We wouldn’t be surprised to see the Oppo Pad 2 appearing before the end of this year.
