POCO X5 GT is coming soon with Snapdragon 7 Gen 2

POCO X5 GT

POCO had a long marketing campaign to build hype for the POCO X5 series. After much anticipation, the brand finally introduced the lineup with the POCO X5 and POCO X5 Pro. The global customers got the two variants, while the Indian market received only the Pro unit. Apparently, these two devices will soon be joined by a third member – the POCO X5 GT. Yeah, the “Gaming Tier” smartphone is coming soon, and according to the leaked specs, it may be placed above the Pro variant.

POCO has been launching GT variants since the days of the POCO X3 series. However, they never got more popular than the regular variants due to the hardware choice. As per the leaks, the POCO X5 GT may be an exciting smartphone for hardware enthusiasts. The phone was listed on the IMDA’s certification from Singapore with model number 23049PCD8G. Also, a similar phone with model number 23049PCD8I was spotted on India’s BIS certification. Interestingly, the model number basically confirms the variants. The “G” on the Singapore regulator is for the global variant, whereas the “I” on the one that passed by BIS is for the Indian market.

POCO X5 GT alleged specifications

As per some reports, Xiaomi’s POCO X5 GT passed by the IMEI database. As per the leaks, the phone may end up as a rebranded Redmi Note 12 Turbo. Honestly, POCO does nothing besides rebranding Xiaomi or Redmi phones, so this would not be a big surprise. In this case, the phone may end up as a rebranded Redmi Note 12 Turbo.

As per the leaks, the POCO X5 GT will bring a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution. Under the hood, the phone has a Snapdragon 7 Gen 2, and a 50 MP main camera. We don’t know much about the Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 but it should bring significant upgrades over the first generation. In fact, rumors point to the launch of the SD7 Gen 2 along with a new SD7+ Gen 1. For now, there is no word on the launch of these chipsets, but we would not be surprised to see the Redmi Note 12 Turbo / POCO X5 GT being the first phone with it.
