Before the US sanctions, Huawei was into all sort of businesses. Huawei is a very large company that manufactures different types of tech-related equipment and gadgets. Apart from telecommunication equipment, smartphones and laptops, the company was also a great player in the chip manufacturing industry.
Huawei’s Kirin chips were one of the best smartphone chips out there. It was fast, efficient and reliable than most chips. However, the company had to put a hold on the production of Kirin chips and all other chips. Thanks to sanctions from the United States government.

All indications are pointing to the fact that the Chinese tech giant is gradually recovering from the wounds of the sanctions.
Huawei Has Found a Way to Produce Chip
According to a new report from Huawei Central, Huawei’s chip design company, HiSilicon may have found a way out. Hence, the company may get back to business as early as this year. A tip from a Weibo user has it that some old Huawei chipset solutions will get back to life this year. These businesses include Ascend, Kunpeng, Tiangang, and Balong. Huawei had to put a hold on the production of these chips due to the US sanctions. However, the company has found a way to restart production, according to rumors.
Huawei has collaborated with other Chinese chip companies to find a way of producing low-chipset nodes. This achievement will help companies like Huawei to start producing chipsets for most of its products. In its current situation, the Chinese telecommunication equipment maker can be able produce some chips. This is because chips for telecommunication equipment do not require advanced technologies.
According to the tipster, Huawei will release these four chips and other chips in the second half of the year. Before the sanctions stepped in, HiSilicon had already developed a number of chips. These product lines include:

Is Huawei Kirin Chip Coming Back?
Yes, Huawei is doing everything possible to bring back the Kirin chip. As a matter of fact, the company has already launched the renewed Kirin 710 chip this year. The new Kirin 710 chip is based on a 14nm architecture. Huawei currently has some budget smartphones that are using this new Kirin chip. So far, they are doing quite well. On the other hand, making a flagship-level chipset may not be possible this year. This is because, the requirements for high-end chips are not yet available at the company.
