A former bodyguard has launched a ride-sharing app called Black Wolf that features armed drivers. The app is currently available in the Metro Atlanta area. But the plans are in the works to expand it to New York City within the next four months. Kerry King Brown, the founder of Black Wolf, is a 32-year-old former private investigator who worked for Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.). Brown said that he created the app in response to the surge in violent crime nationwide.

The company was launched last week in response to the country’s seemingly never-ending barrage of mass shootings. Brown’s service provides armed guards to accompany clients on errands, to their homes, and to other places they feel unsafe. Black Wolf first gained widespread attention after going viral on Reddit. And in its first week, the app has already been downloaded over 80,000 times.

According to the Black Wolf website, it offers three types of ride-hailing options. Armed protection driver, Unarmed protection driver, and School shuttle drivers. The school-based option is marketed as a way to send children to school more safely.

Moreover, its website reads, “The services are for corporate executives, high-net-worth individuals, celebrities, women, school kids, and regular people who want peace of mind in this wild world.” “By providing passengers with an Executive Protection Driver trained in private security, we offer affordable unprecedented protection and peace of mind to anyone who needs a lift,” it continued.

Black Wolf’s Security

KingBrown says he is recruiting a specific type of employee for his exclusive ride-sharing company. Those with expertise in security and public safety.

“I’m making this very exclusive, and I’m making it to the point where I’m setting a standard of those who we’re recruiting,” KingBrown said.

“So I’ve made it known that those who’ve been in the security field, military, law enforcement, those are the guys who we are recruiting. Those are our top priorities, making sure that we are recruiting the right people for our clients and our riders.”

“Every Black Wolf App vehicle comes equipped with GPS Tracking and Live-streaming technology that allows our riders to share with their loved ones,” the company says on its Facebook page. One video on Black Wolf’s Facebook page even shows a real-world potential abduction of a child.

The Black Wolf ride-sharing app charges a premium rate for rides with armed drivers. As reported by New York Post, riders will need to pay $50 for an unarmed driver and $60 for a driver with a gun. The rate per mile is $1.75 for both types of rides. Black Wolf also offers the option to become a VIP rider with “exclusive benefits”, as mentioned on the website. You can also register to drive as a Black Wolf rider from the website itself.

US mass shootings surge

The United States has struggled with a surge in mass shootings in recent months. On May 6, a gunman opened fire at an outlet mall in Allen, Texas, killing eight people and injuring seven more.

The Allen shooting was just one of many mass shootings that have occurred in the U.S. in recent months. In March, a gunman killed 10 people at a grocery store in Boulder, Colorado. In April, a gunman opened fire at a synagogue in Poway, California, killing one person and injuring three more. There have already been 22 mass shootings in the U.S. this year alone.

This is a horrific pace, and the country is on track to break its record for mass shootings. These mass shootings are a tragedy for the victims and their families. And they are a reminder of the need for action to address gun violence in the United States.
