WhatsApp for Windows Will Soon Allow Users to Make Video Calls with 32 Participants

WhatsApp For PC

WhatsApp took long enough to launch a separate client for Windows PCs. Although it has been available for some time, the Windows client still offers limited features compared to its Android and iOS counterparts. The company seems to be gradually implementing new features to make the PC client more interesting. Perhaps, in a few months, it will exceed its current ‘barebones’ implementation. There is a new feature that will greatly enhance productivity and make the app way more useful on PCs. The WhatsApp team is testing a new feature to improve group video calling capabilities on Windows. It will soon allow users to have video calls with up to 32 participants.

WhatsApp for Windows – Member Group Video Call Limit with Raise to 32

Currently, WhatsApp for Windows allows people to have group video calls with just up to eight participants. This number is significantly low when compared to other group video call options. It’s pretty easy to fill up that amount if you’re doing important job calls, or having video meetings with your family members. This will change soon as WhatsApp Team is aiming at increasing that amount significantly.

Gizchina News of the week

The new change is already available in WhatsApp for Windows beta 2.2324.1.0. The experts from WABetaInfo states that WhatsApp is testing the limit of up to 32 members. So some beta testers are already seeing a prompt alerting them about the change in the latest build.

The report says some users have seen a 16-member limit as well. It is quite possible that the team is testing different arrangements among beta testers to see what works best. WhatsApp on Android and iOS already supports up to 32 people’s audio calls on Windows and up to 32 people’s group video calls on Android and iOS. So it makes more sense to raise the video call limit to 32 on Windows PCs as well.

WhatsApp for Windows is known for its slow pace of development. The app took so long to arrive and now is taking a while to get all features available on other platforms. However, it seems that we’re finally seeing a steady increase in the number of features coming for the client. Previously, WhatsApp introduced a Call Back alert for missed calls within the chat window. The new improvement for video calls will be another welcome feature. Hopefully, WhatsApp For Windows will become powerful enough to challenge other well-established meeting/chat apps.
