Meta Launches Threads: A New Social Media App to Compete with Twitter

Meta, formerly known as Facebook, is launching a new social networking app called Threads on July 6. The app is already on the App Store and is available for pre order. Android users will also have access to Threads soon, as indicated by an app listing on Google Play.

Threads is being marketed as an Instagram app and allows users to sign up using their Instagram accounts. Their usernames, followers, and other account information will automatically move to the new app. According to the app screenshots, it has a similar UI to Instagram.
