It seems like vivo doesn’t want to stop adding more devices to the Y100 series. It already has the standard Y100, Y100 Chinese version, and Y100i. Now, the lineup has a new addition, the vivo Y100 5G. But yes, there’s no denying that the latest addition is the most interesting one among the four.

Wondering what really makes it interesting? The main highlight of the vivo Y100 5G is the new Snapdragon mid-range chipset. Also, the phone has a capable camera setup to handle all day-to-day apps with ease. The pricing is pretty attractive too. It made its debut in Indonesia with a starting price of IDR3,899,000, which is around $246. The phone should come to the other markets soon.

Main Highlights of the vivo Y100 5G

Under the hood, the vivo Y100 5G comes with the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2. It’s the latest SoC of the series, and it’s also the first 4nm chip of the lineup. While it’s not close to being a flagship SoC, it does have what it takes to power through most of the normal tasks. It can even play games at a moderate frame rate.

The chipset is paired with 8 GB of RAM, which is a bit low for today’s standards. But it should be enough for day-to-day apps. As for the storage, it maxes out at 256 GB, which is good enough for storing multiple large-sized files.

Camera-wise, the back has a 50 MP primary sensor, which is paired with an 8 MP ultrawide and a flicker sensor. On the front, vivo Y100 5G has an 8 MP sensor. Other highlights include Funtouch OS 14 on top of Android 14, a 5000 mAh battery with 80W charging, and an embedded fingerprint scanner.
