Google has officially unveiled the
Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL. At first glance, you might think they look just like last year’s models. And honestly, you’d be right. The design hasn’t changed much, but the upgrades under the hood are what really matter this time. Both phones now come with a brand-new chipset, bigger batteries, and magnetic charging support.
You also get fresh color options: Moonstone (a soft blue-gray), Obsidian (classic black), Porcelain (white), and Jade (green).
Google Pixel 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL: Brighter Display
The Pixel 10 Pro sports a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED screen with a resolution of 1,280 x 2,856 pixels. The larger
Pixel 10 Pro XL bumps that up to 6.8 inches and 1,344 x 2,992 pixels. Both panels support a smooth 1-120Hz refresh rate and peak at an impressive 3,300 nits brightness.
Google has also added Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for extra durability. On the front, you’ll find a 42MP selfie camera tucked neatly inside the display, alongside an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor.
Google Pixel 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL Feature Tensor G5
The real highlight is the new
Tensor G5 chipset. Unlike previous versions made by Samsung, Google worked with TSMC this time. That shift promises better efficiency, which should help the Pixel line finally compete more closely with Snapdragon-powered flagships.
Performance numbers look good. The CPU runs 34% faster than the Tensor G4, and AI tasks are said to process 60% quicker. It’s also the first chip built to run Google’s Gemini Nano AI model natively. As usual, security is handled by the Titan M2 chip.
Both the
Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL come with 16GB of RAM as standard, a nice bump for multitasking and heavy app use.
Cameras: Same Setup, Still Solid
When it comes to cameras, Google is sticking with what worked last year. You still get a 50MP main sensor, a 48MP ultrawide, and a 48MP telephoto lens. The telephoto supports 5x optical zoom and up to 100x hybrid zoom.
Video recording goes all the way up to 8K at 30fps. While the hardware isn’t brand new, the improved Tensor G5 and Google’s image processing should deliver even better results.
Bigger Batteries + Magnetic Charging
Battery life should see a boost thanks to bigger cells. The
Pixel 10 Pro packs a 4,870mAh battery with 30W wired charging. The Pro XL upgrades to a 5,200mAh battery with 45W charging.
But the real standout is magnetic wireless charging. Google is calling it Pixelsnap, their own version of Apple’s MagSafe. The
Pixel 10 Pro supports 15W speeds, while the Pro XL goes up to 25W with Qi2.
Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL Software and Updates
Both
Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL run Android 16 out of the box with Google’s new
Material 3 Expressive UI. As expected, Google promises
7 years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates—a major win for anyone planning to hold onto their phone for the long run.
Other Features
The new Pixels are IP68 water and dust resistant. They also ship with Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Ultra-Wideband support for precise location and device tracking.
