The
Huawei Ascend D2 was one of the stars at
CES, so to hear that the flagship
Huawei phone went on
sale today without any official ceremony of celebration is quite surprising.
According to Huawei's official Weibo account, the
Ascend D2 went on limited
sale earlier this evening through the company's official
Taobao store for the princely some of 3990 Yuan ($640).
Although the
price may seem high to
international buyers, it is actually considered pretty affordable in the eyes of most
tech savvy
Chinese buyers, and actually works out to be 700 Yuan ($112) less than the HTC Butterfly (Droid DNA) with a similar
specification.
If you like the
Huawei Ascend D2's specs but want to save some dough then you might want to wait until the 21st January when the
ZTE Nubia Z5 will go on
sale for 3456 Yuan ($555) or the 29th when the
Oppo Find 5 will launch for 2998 Yuan ($481).
