When
iQOO started its journey in 2019, Vivo's sub-brand was most focused in raw performance. Devices under this brand would focus on hardware to deliver the best experience for an affordable price. However, the years have passed, and the brand's smartphones are starting to look like premium flagships. Don't get me wrong, iQOO smartphones are still relatively affordable when compared to iPhone or Samsung Galaxy flagships. However, we are starting to see some premium features reaching these devices. The upcoming iQOO 15 is confirmed to feature a Periscope Telephoto Camera.
iQOO 15 To Bring Advanced Zoom Capabilities
iQOO smartphones haven't built their name with powerful cameras. Their camera combos weren't the most impressive in terms of hardware, but this is changing. The iQOO 15, for example, will get advanced zoom with the Periscope camera. The info has been confirmed through a
new Weibo post by iQOO Product Manager Galant V.The iQOO 14 was a nice preview of an advanced camera since the device had a 50 MP telephoto camera. Now, the iQOO 15 is getting the Periscope Telephoto shooter for powerful zoom. The exec didn't share many details regarding the iQOO 15 camera specs. However, the recent leaks suggest we will see a triple 50 MP camera setup on the back.
As per the leaks, the iQOO 15 will come with a 6.85-inch Samsung AMOLED screen with 2K resolution and 144Hz refresh rate. The device will boast the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC. It has up to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of Internal Storage.
The iQOO 15 is set to launch this October in China, bringing strong hardware and fresh software. It will run
OriginOS 6, which is based on Android 16, giving users the latest features right from the start.
Power is a big focus. The phone packs a 7,000mAh battery, paired with 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. This means users can expect long hours of use and quick top-ups when the battery runs low.
Other highlights include an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the display, a Q3 chip made for gaming, and a new X-axis motor that delivers sharper vibration feedback. The phone will also support satellite connections, which could be useful in places with poor network coverage.
