India's
Micromax are famous for their affordable range of Android smartphones. The fast rising company also announced
expansion into the Russian market recently, showing signs of evolving into a what we can call a 'mature' company.
With the success, Micromax can now afford to experiment on realms new. The company is currently reported to be working on a smartphone called
Micromax Splash or Canvas Splash, which allegedly comes with
waterproof and dustproof IP67-certified coating. While there's nothing new in this, it will definitely turn out to be a step ahead for a manufacturer like Micromax.
The report comes from none other than
MMXNewscaster, a
leaks source specializing in Micromax
news. Given their track record, we are quite certain that the
Canvas Splash (or whatever
name it is given) will launch in the coming weeks.
Unfortunately we have no word on
specifications yet, save for the
rear camera details. The leaked render shows a 5 mega-pixel rear shooter paired with an LED flash on the rear panel, that also reads 'IP67 Certified' at the bottom.
MMXNewscaster mentioned in the tweet that the
phone can hold up to 30min when submerged in water 1m deep.
