When looking at the various
Chinese phones either available or soon to be available there are a few stand out models which feature impressive dual-core MT6577 CPU’s, 1GB
RAM and 1280 x
720 displays which still managing to be relatively inexpensive! Here are our 7 top dual-core
Chinese phones with 1280 x
720 screen and 1GB
RAM.
Before I get in to the details of each of these phones there are a few things I guess you are going to be asking.
Are these phones dual-sim?
- One of the reasons for choosing a Chinese phone is dual-sim support and yes all of these dual-core MT6577 phones have dual-sim.
Are all these phones currently on the market?
- No, unfortunately not. Some phones are to be released, others are in the pre-order stages (JiaYu G3 and UMi X1) but some like the THL and ZOPO ZP300+ are on sale right now.
So without further a do here are our top 7 dual-core
Chinese phones with 1280 x
720 resolution
screens and 1GB RAM!
CDS CD1000
You might recognize the
CDS CD1000
Chinese Android phone as I recently wrote about it
here.
Featuring a price tag of just over $200 and boasting a dual-core MT6577 CPU clocked at 1.2Ghz makes the CD1000 slightly more powerful than some of the other phones listed, but overall specs are roughly the same.
Like the rest of the phones the CD1000 has a 1280 X
720 display but in this case it is a 4.5 inch model from Japanese company Sharp.
Cameras are your standard 8 mega-pixel rear with 0.3 up front with and LED flash for night photos.
As you can see the overall design is very similar to that of the flagship Samsung Galaxy S3, and CDS have done a good job of making their clone look as realistic as possible by making the body just 9.9mm thick.
The only downsides to the CDS CD1000 I can see is the slightly higher retail price, but more worryingly the rather small battery which is only a 1700mAh unit!
Pulid F13
Again, regular readers are going to recognize the Pulid D13 as I wrote about it just a few days ago, but I imagine many of your
recognize this phone due to it’s extremely impressive hardware especially the rear camera.
So we know the Pulid F13 has a dual-core CPU, 1GB RAM and 1280 X 720 display, but what else does this Chinese phone have to offer.
Well in comparison to the CDS CD1000 the Fulid F13 is slightly thinner at only 9.7mm yet comes equipped with a slightly larger 1800mAh battery (which is still a little on the small side).
Like the CD1000 the Fulid F13 has a Samsung Galaxy S3 clone look to it, but in this case with a larger 4.7 inch display, however it’s the rear camera which really makes the Pulid stand out.
While the majority of other Chinese phones have an 8 mega-pixel camera the Fulid F13 has a 12 mega-pixel rear snapper with auto-focus, LED flash and all those great Android ICS 4.0 options!
Pricing again is just over $200, but with the larger screen and 12 mega-pixel camera it might be worth going for a F13!
Zopo ZP300+
Don’t get the Zopo ZP300+ confused with the older ZP300, as this Chinese phone has a faster dual-core CPU from Mediatek.
The rest of the specification is the same as the older model though, but that’s find as the Zopo ZP300+ features a 1280 x 720 display from Korean manufacturer LG, 1GB RAM, 4GB ROM and an 8 mega-pixel rear camera.
The ZP300+ has an 1800mAh battery with a smaller 4.5 inch display which should see battery life which extends a little further than the larger Pluid F13.
Zopo have had the ZP300+ on the
market for some time now and they have managed to impress a larger number of people with their great customer service, quality of manufacture and good-looking phones.
More over it’s very easy to get hold of a Zopo ZP300+ and they are in stock in many stores now (I have one on my desk next to me which needs reviewing!), but it’s not all good though.
While the Zopo ZP300+ is on sale now, offers great performance, design and quality, the cost of this Chinese phone is more than the others with retails prices reaching as high as $280 in some stores!
JiaYu G3
Yes, the JiaYu G3 the one phone that has excited and disappointed us more over the past few months than any other phone this year.
However with all the troubles and delays it does seem that a few customers are finally getting their JiaYu G3 phones, which still manages to be one of the cheapest Android phones on the market with our wish list specification!
Dual-core CPU, 1GB RAM, 4GB ROM and a 4.5 inch 1280 x 720 screen are all wrapped up in an attractive angular body.
The G3 even has a large 2750 mAh battery meaning it has the stamina to keep it going long after other phones will need a battery change or recharge.
Of course the G3 has been delayed more than any phone we have every encountered but it finally looks like they have everything sorted and phones will start arriving with customers again from this weekend onward.
In China the JiaYu G3 is $140 where as resellers have had them marked up as closer to $180!
Bluebo L100 HD
Here I’m talking about the HD version of the Bluebo L100, this is the slightly more expensive version of the phone with better 1280 x 720 display and 1GB RAM (the cheaper model has a lower res screen and just 512mb RAM).
The Bluebo L100 HD get’s teh very popular Samsung Galaxy S3 clone look like many of the phones featured here and comes equipped with a dual-core MT6577 CPU and 1GB RAM.
The screen is a 4.7 inch IPS unit, and thanks to the slightly larger than average 2000mAh battery the Bluebo L100 HD manages to keep going despite it’s larger screen and powerful specification.
The rest of highlights include an 8 mega-pixel rear camera, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooh, dual-sim and SD card reader.
- Prices for the Bluebo L100 HD are around the $200 mark.
UMi X1
The UMi
X1 has long been hailed as the closest we can get to a JiaYu G3 alternative and at the similar low price of $150+ it certainly seems to offer pretty much the same the G3 has.
Dual-core MT6577, 1GB RAM and a 1280 x 720 4.5 inch display which features a Gorilla Glass-like protective coating are all great features, then throw in the super slim 8.5 mm design and 8 mega-pixel rear camera and we have a very attractive phone.
Of course having a thin phone means that something has to give and in this case it is the battery size in the UMi X1 which suffers and is a 1750 mAh unit.
Possibly the thinnest phone in it’s league, the UMi X1 is certainly one to look at if you are not a power use or don’t mind carrying an extra battery with you.
THL W3
THL are one of those brands which make fantastic phones but manage to keep flying under our radar. The W3 is on sale now for around $250 and features all the great features of the other dual-core MT6577 phones featured here.
The 1280 x 720 CPU is a 4.5 inch unit, plus there is 1GB RAM on board along with 4GB ROM and space for a micro SD card.
THL have given the THL W3 a rear 8 mega-pixel camera while the front is a 2 mega-pixel unit, with a 2000mAh battery sitting in the back keeping the phone running.
Conclusion
As you can see there are plenty of low-cost phones with dual-core CPU, 1GB RAM and high-resolution 1280 x 720 displays on the market but not all phones here are suitable for everyone.
The phones which really stand out to me are the Pulid F13 thanks to it’s 12 mega-pixel rear camera, good-looking design and low price, however the battery should be larger.
Then the UMi X1 for being the thinnest and 2nd lowest priced phone in it’s league.
And of course the JiaYu G3 for being such a pain of a phone, yet everyone (including myself) still secretly wants!
