Redmi K90 Ultra Specs Leak - Dimensity 9500+ and 8000mAh Battery in Tow

The Redmi K90 and K90 Pro Max were unveiled in last month. Now, the devices are about to make their global debut with a new makeover and small hardware changes - POCO F8 Pro and POCO F8 Ultra. While the eyes are staring at POCO's global release, Redmi moves in the background, preparing the new variant dubbed Redmi K90 Ultra.

The third member of the Redmi K90 family isn't exactly a surprise. The Ultra has been a recurring variant in this lineup. While the Pro Max was a first in the series, following the launch of the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, the Ultra is about to return. According to new leaks, the device may bring some hardware variations when compared to the Pro Max. First of all, the rumors claim it will come with a Dimensity 9 series chipset, which could be the upcoming Dimensity 9500+.

The MediaTek Dimensity 9500 is fresh and new, but we all know that the Taiwanese chipmaker will eventually launch an upgraded variant to keep this SoC engaging in the first half of 2026. According to the leak, this new CPU will give horsepower to the Redmi K90 Ultra.

The phone will allegedly come with a 6.8-inch LTPS OLED screen with 1.5K resolution and an impressive 165Hz refresh rate. Following the iPhone's guidelines, it will have very rounded corners, a metal frame, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, and a water resistance rating. The battery capacity will most likely be near the 8,000mAh territory.

So far, these are all the details available for the new smartphone. Considering the new leak, the Ultra will have a higher refresh rate than the Pro Max, a different CPU, and a bigger battery. Some will prefer the one with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, especially gamers, since Qualcomm's CPUs tend to have a better experience on gaming and emulation. However, the K90 Pro will still be a powerhouse.

We don't know the details yet, but considering the specs, the Redmi K90 Ultra may end up being a good candidate to take the POCO F8 spot in the next year. Xiaomi is presenting the POCO F8 Pro and Ultra in November 26. There is still a missing spot in the family, and we expect the more affordable POCO F8 to follow suit in the coming months. It could launch alongside the POCO X8 Pro, which may also come with a MediaTek chipset.
