Leaks have been surfacing frequently, and Redmi has been steadily teasing its upcoming
Redmi Turbo 5 series. Despite the constant flow of information, the official launch date remained unclear — until now. Redmi has
confirmed that the new smartphones will
debut on January 29.
Redmi Turbo 5 Max Launch Date Confirmed With Bold Orange Option
Alongside the date,
Redmi also revealed new design details. The
Redmi Turbo 5 Max will be available in Sunrise Orange, a color choice that easily draws comparisons to Apple’s recent Pro iPhone color strategy. Apple doesn’t own colors, of course, but the timing and shade direction make the inspiration hard to ignore.
The design language reinforces that impression. The
Redmi Turbo 5 Max adopts rounded edges, a CNC metal frame, and a clean, minimalist finish. These elements closely resemble current iPhone styling. Redmi clearly isn’t hiding the influence, and while some may call it imitation, others will simply see it as a premium-inspired look at a different price point.
Redmi also confirmed a fiberglass rear panel and a dual-LED flash setup. While there are refinements, the overall design continues the formula introduced with the Redmi Turbo 4.
Harry Potter Edition Redmi Pad 2 Pro Also Teased
Beyond the smartphones, Redmi teased the Buds 8 Pro and a Redmi Pad 2 Pro Harry Potter Edition. This follows last year’s Harry Potter-themed Redmi Turbo 4 Pro, showing the brand’s continued push into themed special editions. This time around, it's the
Redmi Pad 2 Pro that gets some Hogwarts makeup.
As for performance, the
Redmi Turbo 5 Max is expected to run on the new MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset, whereas the vanilla is rumored to come with the
Dimensity 8500.
Of course, the battery life is the real highlight feature. The device is rumored to pack a
massive 9,000mAh battery with 100W wired charging. If true, it could set a new bar for endurance among Redmi smartphones while still offering very fast top-up speeds.
