First Look: Motorola Xoom Knock-off Honeycomb Tablet

The Motorola Xoom, like in many countries, doesn’t enjoy the cult following the iPad and iPad 2 have, so it has taken the local Chinese brands a little longer to rustle up a knock-off model.

But judging by the looks of this Xoom clone from Shenzhen, the wait may well have been worth it.

This tablet is what the Chinese call a “1:1 high copy machine” suggesting that it would take a few second looks to guess you were not in actual fact looking at a genuine Motorola Xoom tablet.

In fact, according to our sources, the company behind this clone have actually spent some time and money on their own R&D.

Like the Motorola Xoom you would pick up at Best Buy, this Chinese knock-off gets a 10 inch screen with a resolution of 1280 x 800, you will also get multi-touch, Bluetooth, GPS, 3G, blah blah blah (you should know the drill by now).

However unlike the majority of Chinese made tablets this Xoom-alike is actually packing some pretty awesome surprises such as the dual core Tegra 2 CPU, 1GB RAM, but best of all a real, fully functioning, Android 3.2 Honeycomb O.S!

Price is not yet know, but in light of what Lenovo have recently released coupled with the popularity of the iPad we would hope to see this 10-inch Honeycomb Xoom clone in stores for roughly 1900 Yuan ($299)
