Xiaomi HyperOS 4 Stable Update: These Devices Could Get It First

Xiaomi is getting closer to the stable release of HyperOS 4, and more details are now emerging about the first devices in line. The Chinese behemoth has already confirmed that the REDMI K100 Pro series will be among the first models to receive the stable version. The latest rollout information also points to several other new Xiaomi and REDMI devices getting priority - mostly brand new flagships.

However, Xiaomi has not yet published a complete stable rollout calendar for all markets. This means the dates circulating online should be treated with some caution. I don't want you arguing in the comments about it, ok?

The Xiaomi 17 series is expected to play a major role in the first stable rollout. The current HyperOS 4 beta program already includes the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, Xiaomi 17 Pro Max and Xiaomi 17 Ultra. The REDMI K90 and REDMI K90 Pro Max are also part of the first beta group.

The Xiaomi 17 Max however, is different. It joined the second beta wave rather than the first one, so it may not receive the stable update at exactly the same time as the other Xiaomi 17 models. That does not mean it will be left behind. It simply shows that Xiaomi is testing the new software in stages.

REDMI K100 Pro Series Is Confirmed

The REDMI K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max are also important here. REDMI has already confirmed that the K100 Pro series will be among the first devices to get the stable version of HyperOS 4. Both models joined the third beta wave, which begins on September 17.

This is worth noting because the K100 Pro series was not included in the first beta group. Xiaomi is using the beta program to test the software on more devices before the stable release.

The K90 series is also part of the early testing process. The K90 and K90 Pro Max were included in the first beta wave.

Xiaomi Pad 8 Is Also Involved

Xiaomi is not limiting HyperOS 4 testing to phones. The Xiaomi Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro were part of the first beta wave. This suggests that Xiaomi is working on the tablet version of HyperOS 4 at the same time as the phone version.

Other tablets will follow. The third beta wave includes the Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra and Xiaomi Pad 7S Pro 12.5. That gives us a good idea of how Xiaomi is building the update across its product range.

What About October 15?

A rollout date of October 15 has been reported for the first stable HyperOS 4 updates. However, Xiaomi has not yet published something concrete. For now, I would not treat October 15 as a confirmed worldwide release date.

The safer picture is that Xiaomi is preparing the stable version now, with the devices already in beta testing likely to be among the first in line.

Global and EEA users also have their own HyperOS 4 beta program. The first global and European beta devices include the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra, while the second group includes the Xiaomi 17T, Xiaomi 17T Pro, Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra.

The stable rollout may therefore happen at different times depending on the region.

HyperOS 4 Is a Major Update

HyperOS 4 is based on Android 17 as we all know. It brings a new visual design, smoother animations and several system changes. Xiaomi is also adding new AI features and a redesigned interface based around its Soft Light Glass design. The company is putting more focus on widgets, folders, notifications and connections between Xiaomi devices.

The stable version should also be more polished than the current beta builds. That matters because beta software can still have bugs, battery issues and app problems. For now, Xiaomi 17, REDMI K90 and REDMI K100 Pro series owners have good reason to watch the next few weeks closely.
