Chinese manufacturing giant Xiaomi is set to unveil its latest flagship series, the
Xiaomi 17 series. According to reports so far, the company will launch these devices on September 30 in China. Just before the launch, more
leaks reveal salient details of this device.
The latest leak shows some interesting details about the battery. A reliable Weibo leaker, known as Panda Is Very Bald, shared images and specs that show noticeable capacity upgrades. The leaks even hint at an unannounced Ultra model, adding to the hype.
The standard
Xiaomi 17 could carry a 7,000 mAh battery. That’s a big step up from the 5,400 mAh cell in the Chinese Xiaomi 15. This change alone should give the base model much longer run times for heavy users.
Pro model sees smaller, but still better, bump
The
Xiaomi 17 Pro will reportedly feature a 6,300 mAh battery. While this is smaller than the base 17’s cell, it still improves on the 6,100 mAh battery in the 15 Pro. It might disappoint some fans who expected the Pro to outdo the regular model. But the jump is enough to hint at better endurance.
Even more impressive is the rumored 17 Pro Max. According to the leak, it will pack a 7,500 mAh battery, making it the largest of the group. This capacity suggests Xiaomi is serious about delivering all-day power, even for demanding tasks like gaming and video recording.
Charging speeds also getting faster
The same leak points to 100 W fast charging for all three phones. That’s a slight increase over the 90 W charging seen in the previous generation. A certification leak from August had already hinted at this upgrade. Faster charging means less waiting around, which will appeal to power users on the go.
Possible surprise with the Ultra model
The leaked image shows four batteries, not three. The extra cell reportedly belongs to a
Xiaomi 17 Ultra, which hasn’t been officially revealed. Its 6,800 mAh capacity would mark another upgrade over the 6,000 mAh battery in the 15 Ultra. If real, this suggests Xiaomi has even more surprises in store for its launch event.
What this could mean for buyers
These battery bumps, combined with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, could make the Xiaomi 17 series a strong choice for those needing long-lasting performance. Unless the new chipset proves less efficient, users can expect better endurance than before. For now, the leaks give fans something to look forward to as the launch date approaches.
