Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 could use a super telephoto lens

In recent times, there has been a couple of speculations regarding the upcoming Xiaomi Mi MIX 4. Today, in response to questions by netizens, Xiaomi product director, Wang Teng, said that the Mi MIX 4 "should" use a super-telephoto lens. His statement is not definite thus there is still no certainty to the camera lens of this smartphone.

According to the information from the State Intellectual Property Office, Xiaomi recently applied for a periscope lens patent. This created speculations that the Mi MIX 4 will use a periscope lens to achieve a multi-fold hybrid zoom. This does not rule out the possibility that this smartphone will use a periscope lens. Wang Teng has earlier said that the sensor of the MIX 4 is better than Samsung's 64MP (GW1). However, the sensor model is still unknown.

In addition, the MIX 4 may likely use Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 855+ SoC. As of now, Asus ROG Phone 2 and Nubia Red Magic 3 will use this mobile platform. As a flagship of Xiaomi, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 is also expected to launch a core technology. At present, Xiaomi said that the technology has not gone into mass production. This could be the 100W super-fast charging, wide-area screen fingerprint unlocking, or even an under-screen camera.
