The MeeGo mobile operating system was originally under development by Nokia and Intel, however the Finnish phone maker has recently dumped the OS in favor of Windows 7 leaving the fledgling OS open for new takers.
And new takers they have!
LG, ZTE and China Mobile all seem to be courting the new platform with the hopes to either have the new OS running on either all or part of their phone ranges.
This move for mobile device makers to move to newer operating systems seems to be a growing trend, one which developers of the Android OS, Google, will be watching with increased concern.
Motorola, Samsung are also planning their own OS so to gain more control over development of their mobile devices and HP already have their own WebOS in production.
