CarPad F8 HD-89 quad-core, 5.7-inch phablet costs just $225

Chinese phablet maker CarPad has been showing off various designs and models for their upcoming quad-core range, but finally we have some idea of when they will launch and the price!

CarPad are one of the first Chinese large screen phone makers. Their early efforts weren’t all that impressive due to low resolution screens or pitiful amounts of RAM, but it looks like they have their act together and are ready to launch the new F8 HD.

Gizchina News of the week

The CarPad F8-HD is currently entering production and should go on sale not too long after the Chinese New Year holidays. The cost is advertised at 1399 Yuan ($225) for which you get a 5.7-inch 720p IPS display, a quad-core MT6589 CPU running at 1.2Ghz, 1GB rAM, an 8-mega-pixel rear camera and 3 mega-pixel front, plus a 2800mAh battery.

CarPad are also planning a smaller version of the FB HD called the F8 MINI-89 which features similar hardware but a smaller 5.3-inch display and updated 13 mega-pixel rear camera.
