Carpad’s TAB Titanium series are lightweight Huawei Ascend P6 lookalikes

Coolpad have started to promote an all new line of ultra-thin, lightweight Android phones named the TAB Titanium series.

The new range of phones will initially consist of 5 models powered by either a 1.3Ghz MT6582, 1.5Ghz quad-core MT6589T or 2Ghz 8-core MT6592 and up to 2GB RAM, with a choice of 5-inch or 6-inch displays.

Carpad have basically taken the design of the Huawei Ascend P6 and just changed a few of the measurements to accommodate the larger screens and removable batteries. For example the 6-inch T6 will measure just 7.6mm and the 5-inch T5 only 6.7mm and both with have thin 2.9mm bezels.

Although they have been a little lazy on the design front they have more than made up for it in specifications with the top of the range T6 Max and T5 Max both offering NFC, sound cancelation, 13 mega-pixel rear cameras, dual-SIM, 8 core processor and 2GB RAM.

Pricing and release dates are to be announced, but don’t expect the 8-core model until the end of the year.

Now this looks like something I’d buy if the price is good. If it costs more than or similar to the real Ascend P6 then no.

If these really have metal cases then I wouldn’t mind one of the octacores when they are released.
