Seems Xiaomi are going to be making their Android Xiaomi MiPad tablet available at a special beta price of just 1 Yuan in China (that’s about 16 cents!).
Xiaomi announced the 7.9-inch MiPad Android tablet earlier this month much to the relief of fans who have been patiently waiting for a Xiaomi tablet to hit the market. Xiaomi managed to spec the little MIUI slate with a powerful Nvidia Tegra K1 processor, Retina display and impressive camera hardware while keeping prices as close to cost as possible.

The MiPad surprises haven’t stopped though as today Xiaomi have announced that they will sell the first 300 MiPad tablets to fans for a special beta price of only 1 Yuan! (roughly 16 Cents!). The special price will be offered to VIP members of the Xiaomi forums who will also be among the first few customers to receive the device. The rest of us will have to wait until later this year when the tablet will go on sale from 1499 Yuan.

and -as it is xiaomi- probably a “beta production volume” of 1 per year…
I still find the lack of 3G/4G option….disturbing…
