Xiaomi’s Mi Store coming to the US, UK, Germany and France June 1st

Xiaomi has dreams of going global and the young-ish phonemaker from China is making sure people know about its intentions. After testing the waters in the west, Xiaomi is now ready to officially launch itself in the US and some European countries.

Xiaomi’s Mi Store will go official in the US, UK, Germany and Europe on June the 1st, i.e., coming Monday. As you would’ve guessed already, it isn’t going to be its much sought after phones that Mi Stores will be selling, but rather accessories (often inexpensive) such as the Mi Power Bank, its popular earphones and headphones, and also the Mi Band fitness tracker.

Gizchina News of the week

This move should bring the company some much needed limelight, and take it a step closer to being a legit phone maker with local presence in countries outside of its comfort zone. People from Europe and the US have, since forever, been importing Xiaomi stuff, so it indeed be great if the devices can be had locally.

Don’t think so, but we’ll check with the company.

Wasn’t the site already launched? People from these countries could have bought Xiaomi accesoires past week or so I believe. The shipping costs and possible tax are still an issue (making it 2 times more expensive (I only have looked at the 5000mAh powerbank) compared to other famous Chinese webshops)

About bloody time, I am sick and tired of buying terrible copies of the powerbanks

It would be nice to finally buy some decent accessories

I presume this ships from european warehouses

Last reports were it was still shipping form China. There are plenty of sites though that sell genuine Xiaomi accessories, I use Honorbuy personally but 1949deal and Meirmobiles among others all sell genuine Xiaomi products.

It’s kinda weird, they open up several EU-web shops, but I can’t have anything shipped outside the physical boundaries of these respective web shops. That’s like going back in time for about two decades…

It’s the way Xiaomi has always done business. They have a website for each country they officially operate in that only ships and sells products for that country.
