Xiaomi’s newest phone is the Mi 4i. The company calls it their ‘mid-range flagship’, and with a price tag of around the US$200 mark, the phone is truly mid-range.
The device was unveiled in India in Xiaomi’s first truly international launch earlier this year. The phone is restricted to a few markets, but if you’re not based in one of those markets you can now get your hands on the device. The Mi 4i has a 5-inch 1920 x 1080p display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 (2nd gen) processor, 2GB of RAM, a 13 mega-pixel main camera, and a 3120mAh battery.
Gizchina News of the week
If you missed our review of the device, you can take a look at it here. The phone certainly didn’t blow our minds, as you might already know. International buyers have, however, shown interest in the device which is perhaps why resellers are now stocking the phone. With heavy mark-ups, the device was over US$250 some time back, but can now be bought for US$223 from Chinese reseller GearBest. (Update: Just been told that that the offer is valid this July only)
Will you go for the Snapdragon 615, or do you rate the MT6752 higher? Let us know in the comments below.
No thanks. The least I will buy is a smartphone with MT6752. Not even MT6732/53 unless just as a cheap second phone with large battery.
