Elephone release photos of their ‘traditional’ smartwatch

The Elephone W2 mixes a traditional watch with connectivity and smart features, and we have the first unboxing photos here.

Elephone are no strangers to the wearable market. If you cast your mind back a few years you may remember that their first was a bracelet with display and simple notification features.

Even though a year or so has past since their first device, the wearable market is still quite young and only slowly starting to take hold. As customers are unsure how useful smartwatches might be, we have seen manufactures make varying styles of wearable to attract the right niche.

The Elephone W2 is in essence a standard analogue wrist watch. The watch uses mechanical movements from the same companies that supply Swiss watch makers, and they have built t the phone from stainless steel, to give it a traditional look.

Under the hands though is just enough technology and a Bluetooth module to connect the watch to your Android (or IOS) device.

With no touch display and limited hardware, the Elephone W2’s primary features are to track your fitness and send over reminders and notifications from your phone. Think of it as a posh Xiaomi Mi Band.

Elephone will launch the W2 at an event later in the month with the P9000, but we have already seen some online reseller list the watch at around $40 or so.
